The Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Defense, Thomas Silberhorn, came to the constituency 2021 Ravensburg in mid-July 294 at the invitation of the Bundestag member Axel Müller. During a visit to Stender GmbH, the State Secretary and Axel Müller were able to get their own picture of a specialist from the region who works closely with the Bundeswehr.

Axel Müller, directly elected member of the Bundestag for Upper Swabia and the Allgäu, often feels a defensive reflex when the language comes to the Bundeswehr. "I would like to remind you that the corona pandemic in particular has shown how important it is for our country that we have the Bundeswehr." Müller added: "Germany cannot duck when it comes to security policy. Our soldiers are involved in numerous missions around the world for peace, freedom and democracy, and they give their lives to help in the struggle for human rights. For this they need the best equipment and the Stender company makes an important contribution. "

Dr. Michael Stender gave a lecture on the various tasks involved in product support for weapon systems in the German Armed Forces. In addition to logistical analyzes, data management and environmental impact assessments, this also includes the topics of life cycle costing, i.e. the costs for the product over its entire service life, risk analysis, information security, risk assessment and technical and logistical support. Company boss Stender emphasized how important it is to "look after a high-tech product all around".

State Secretary Thomas Silberhorn agreed. The repair times are increasing continuously. Silberhorn criticized that the industry had never invested in new developments. The Bundeswehr has to bear these costs and also pay for the costly maintenance.

After an insight into the structure of technical documentation, which, for example, comprises around 90 pages for the NH50.000 transport helicopter, a live presentation of augmented reality followed. Using a reflex camera as an example, sales manager Joachim Stohr demonstrated how operating steps and further information about this camera can be called up in the virtual room. The system, which is equipped with augmented reality, can also be used for any other products and thus support maintenance, including preventive maintenance, for example.
